This photoshoot took place in Brighton during the Photofarm Festival - a cold, grey mid-autumn day that should have felt quiet and heavy, but didn’t. The moment this inclusive couple arrived, everything shifted. She uses a wheelchair, he walks beside her, and together they brought a brightness that cut through the chilly seaside air. Genuine, confident, full of energy — the kind of presence that makes you smile without thinking.
We wandered along the Brighton seafront, letting the wind and the waves shape the mood. Then we slipped into a cosy coffee shop to warm up, before ending our session in a local record store - surrounded by colour, music, and that beautifully unposed atmosphere I love documenting as a photographer.
Half of this session was captured on 35mm film, which gave the story a timeless, nostalgic softness. Film photography has completely stolen my heart this year, and I’m excited to shoot even more analogue weddings and couple sessions in the year ahead.
